About me
My name is Alek. My background lies in marketing, primarily in social media focused content strategy. But behind that, I'm also an avid graphic designer and I taught myself how to use the Adobe creative suite in high school. In my undergraduate studies, I majored in marketing through the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, and minored in creative technologies in art and design through the Eskenazi School of Fine Arts. At IU, I was the marketing director for the hockey team, responsible for a massive rebrand that helped the team grow its visibility on a campus focused on basketball and football.
My goal has always been to be able to combine my creative passions with my curiosity for understanding consumers and how brands can create compelling and authentic messaging that resonates with people.
In 2025, I was accepted to a graduate program at Lund University's School of Economics and Management in Lund, Sweden. My master's degree was focused on International Marketing and Brand Management, where I was able to study with people from all over the world. But the biggest takeaway was that external messaging and advertising efforts don't always tell the whole story of what makes a consumer engage with a brand. It takes an in depth understanding of the target audience and where they come from, who and what they interact with, and what is important to them at a deeper level.

Outside of Work
I'm a dual-citizen of Sweden and the USA, which I'm super proud of. My mom even taught me how to speak Swedish as a kid. Living in Sweden was a dream come true especially because of my family ties. And I'm a huge hockey fan. I've played my whole life and even got to play when I was in Sweden. I'm a Philadelphia Flyers fan, but I love all Indianapolis teams when it comes to the Colts and Pacers. I love traveling and am always trying to plan my next trip and experience a new city or country. So far my favorite places have been Copenhagen, San Sebastián, and Montenegro.
